Brewery Spotlight: Coastal Fermentory

Coastal Fermentory is the newest brewery to call Newport News home. Its official Grand Opening was only a few months ago, December 12, 2020. It started over a year prior to this by a trio of partners, Mike Reppert, Brandon Samuels, and David Lamb, all of whom have been homebrewers for years prior to starting this brewery project. After doing some searching, they found the at-the-time untapped potential of Downtown Newport News.

The taps, as most do, rotate, and there’s a variety to stimulate your taste buds from hazy IPAs like their newly released Kepler’s Law Hazy IPA to sours like the Unicorn Rave that has a passionfruit flavor. Check the brewery’s Facebook for a weekly update on events such as food trucks, live music, and even yoga.
